About the author
Henry Richard (pseudonym) has lived many lives — army captain, consultant, journalist, magazine editor, pub owner, cartoonist and audiologist.
In 2012, after what felt like a moment of spiritual awakening (“I happily stumbled into paradise”), he wrote The Wonder Lamp. But paradise, he discovered, still contained hungry dinosaurs and angry rhinos — the raw materials for The Big Click.
He writes with self-irony and deep compassion about the absurdity of seeking enlightenment while already standing in it. Henry Richard lives in Belgium.
The Big Click
Henry Richard

For readers seeking a clear, intelligent, and non-dogmatic exploration of spiritual life — free from self-help jargon or moral preaching.
When cynical journalist Frank sets out to expose Max – a man who claims to be spiritually enlightened – he expects an easy win. Just another myth to debunk, another “guru” to unmask. But as their conversation unfolds, Frank’s certainty begins to crumble.
With calm clarity and unsettling simplicity, Max turns Frank’s questions back on himself, revealing cracks in the world Frank thought he understood.
What begins as an interview becomes a confrontation between logic and truth, ego and awareness. The Big Click is a razor-sharp dialogue about seeing what’s been there all along – hidden in plain sight.
