The Way Up after your Breakup
About the author
Having worked for over twenty-five years as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, Ann Hogan recognised that from a personal as well as professional perspective, people have to work through pain and heartbreak in order to come to an understanding of what happened in their relationships. When clients told her that she'd helped them to come to terms with and work through their breakups, she reflected on those experiences and was encouraged to write this book in an effort to help others in this situation.

This book addresses the fundamental reasons for the break-up, rather than moving straight onto strategies for dealing with the loss.
'Why did this happen? We seemed so happy...
'I knew we had problems but thought we'd sort them out.'
Breakups can be baffling. When you're in the thick of it, with a thousand questions running through your mind, it can seem impossible to figure out why it actually happened. Finding the answers to these questions can help you to regain control in your life, reflecting on the reasons for a breakup before moving on.
This book addresses the fundamental reasons for the break-up, rather than moving straight onto strategies for dealing with the loss. Using innovative case-studies, it captures the feelings experienced during heartbreak and examines what might have gone wrong, and, crucially, why this led to the breakdown of a relationship, offering strategies to stop it happening again.
