Michelle van der Burg is a Dutch travel writer and historian who writes for an array of travel magazines. Michelle holds a master’s degree in International Relations and followed a course in travel journalism at National Geographic. New York has been her favourite city since childhood, visiting for the first time when she was fifteen and many times since then. Curious about New York’s “backyard” she likes to venture upstate exploring its history, nature and people. After living in London for many years, she now resides outside of Amsterdam with her family, who often accompany her on her trips.
