What Lives On gives people a reason to put into words
what they might otherwise leave unsaid, while they still can. A concept with international potential: the emotional language of love, loss, memory and human connection transcends borders, while the Poesiealbum concept provides an instantly
recognizable cultural starting point that can be reimagined for different markets.
What Lives On is aimed at young adults and adults of all genders and generations. It will appeal to readers interested in poetry, visual art, conscious living, slow living, meaningful gifting and personal storytelling.
The book is particularly suited to a spiritually curious and emotionally conscious audience, as well as readers drawn to themes of love, grief, transformation, self-discovery and human connection. Its universal themes and interactive format also make it accessible to people who may not traditionally consider themselves poetry readers. Rather than being defined by age, gender or lifestyle, the core audience is connected by a desire for deeper, more meaningful forms of connection and an appreciation for beautiful physical objects that can be kept, shared and passed on.
Key selling points:
• A fresh take on the traditional Poesiealbum: transforming a familiar childhood tradition into a sophisticated, emotionally resonant experience for adults.
• A hybrid of poetry, visual art and personal storytelling: combining literature and fine
art in a format that is both intimate and highly collectible.
• 12 original poems + 12 original painted collages: each pair creating a visual and poetic entry point into themes of grief, transformation, sovereignty, wildness (feminine energy) and love.
• A book that becomes personal: intentionally designed with space for handwritten messages, memories and reflections from the people who matter.
• More than a book: a living personal archive: something to read, fill, keep and eventually pass on to the next generation.
• A meaningful gift with lasting emotional value: suitable for partners, parents, children, friends and chosen family; for moments of love, transition, remembrance and celebration.
• An antidote to digital impermanence: bringing back the intimacy, individuality and
permanence of handwriting in a world increasingly dominated by digital communication.
• Born from a deeply personal experience, designed to become universal: Esther Claus transforms her own experience of grief and transformation into a concept that invites readers to explore what remains of the relationships, lifelessons and love that shape their lives.
